Getting past the desire to eat!

I had my surgery on the 12th. Everything is going well, I'm loosing weight.
I'm still in pain, and have problems sleeping normaly etc. This is the first surgery I've ever had so had no idea would that alone would be like.
So now here is my question for the group... how do you get past the desire to eat?! You know, when you are making breakfast for the family, you are use to tasting it.... I'm not hungry, but I want to eat like a bite of food!

hmmm! you know i felt the same, but deep inside me i knew that was not a good idea, which i think you think the same. Today was one of those days that i wanted to eat something even if it was a little piece but i decided not too because i know i really need to eat what is good for me and is going to give me vitamins and proteins and i am not going to say its easy to not eat forbitten food but i know that what i put in my mouth is what is going to help me loose this weight and keep me healthy....besides those other foods is were it got me to do this operation...so why jeopardize it know that i was blessed to have this second chance...good luck my friend and i hope you make the right choices.

I am not sure what your family situation is like, for me when I first came home my husband and daughter who is 19 took over the feeding of the family. I would be fine, but smelling the food would make me starving and I knew just one bite wouldn't satisfy me so i had to leave the situation at first. Now I am 18 weeks post op and the food doesn't bother me. I keep in my mind that only food which is fuel for my body will go into my mouth. The pain from surgery will get better, just keep hydrated and walk if you can. Good luck!!
