6 months Out

Posted 06-20-2009 at 05:54 PM by Mudderof4
I have never blogged on here before so i thought I would start. I had my surgery on December 3rd, 2008. I weighed in at a whopping 284# at 5'4". I am a mother to 4 kids ages 15, 7, 4, and 1. I have been married to my husband for 9 yrs as of July 1st. I am a real estate agent and own a Curves for Women. I am constantly running and going from point A to Point B. It keeps my mind sane... I think! lol. I had GBP for one reason only... I was one that believed God made me Morbidly Obese for a reason and was happy with myself... until I turned the big 3-0 and had my last baby. I called to get life insurance and was denied becuase I was morbidly obese... so I called another place... yep denied... then another.. $175/mo! I had looked into surgery back in 2001 right after I ahd my second child. They told me to wait until I was down having children. I was fortunate enough that I was a very healthy morbidly obese woman and very active in sports and honestly worked out everyday... the problem... I was a closet eater! I think back to the times I would stop at McD's and get 2... yes 2 extra value meals and eat both of them because I thought since I didn't eat breakfast or lunch I can eat 2 of them to make up for the loss of food the rest of the day! GOod Gracious! What was I doing? I have been morbidly obese for as long as I can remmber. For goodness sake I was in weight watchers when i was 12! I am happy to say this is in the past!!

I am now officially 6 months out and weigh in at 182! WHOO HOO! I went from a size 26 pants to a size 14 (which are now getting a little big) I can now shop in the regular ladies side of the store and am wearing a size large shirt.

The insecurities I still have... The excess skin on my arms... My doctor tells me that it may go down as I am only 6 months out. And I plan to "try" to lose another 30-40. The DR tells me he would be happy with 20.. so I told him 40.... its the competitiveness in me..

I am SOOOO happy I had this done.
