This is me!!!

My name is Karen. I am 52 years old. I have been married for nearly 25 years with no children of the homosapian breed; however, we do have two Jack Russell Terriers and a regular old Tabby Cat. Kirby and Tessie (dogs) are litter mates and are now seven years old. They are the lights of my life, especially my boy Kirby. (Yes, I partial!!) Fraidy is the Tabby cat. She is two and weighs 17 pounds. She takes after her mother!!!

I work at the local hospital as a coder in the Medical Records Department. I've been there for 13 years. I was a late bloomer and didn't attend college until the ripe old age of 36.

I have been morbidly obese since first grade. I've yo-yoed most of the past 38 years. Several times I was very successful and lost 115 lb and 85 lb. Unfortunately, I gained it back. Even with the big amounts, I was still morbidly obese. I finally decided I need to do something definitive about this problem. I'm prepared for the future. I've done a lot of reading and GB is my decision. Believe me, it wasn't made lightly; I've been contemplating this for several years.

I am glad I found this website. Everyone here is great. I'm looking forward to joining you on the Loser's Bench!!!!
