I am so excited to begin my weight loss experience! Literally, I have not slept two of the last three nights because I'm so pumped. The first all nighter was Sunday night.
Sunday night, I started cleaning out winter clothes that I know I won't wear again. I bag up all of the shirts and sweaters to take to my sister. We wear the same size stuff right now, so she is inheriting two lawn sized trash bags of tops. Since I am only 4'10, none of the pants will fit her, so I guess I will donate them to Goodwill.
Then, I cleaned out the pantry. All of it...rice, pasta, sugar, flour...I don't want anything like that in the house. I am not bringing any of it back in. I am single, so I only have myself to worry about.
I had my last pre-op appointment with the exercise physiologist on Monday. I spent the day psyched. We talked about previous exercise habits, what I liked about it, what I didn't like about it. I was reminded yet again that losing weight isn't always the problem for me. The problem has been keeping it off. In the past 10 years, I have lost substantial amounts of weight two different times. Each time, I gained those pounds plus about 20. But, it felt good to just put all of those failures on the table and think I have another, more permanent option.
Needless to say, I slept well Monday night! But, with the promise of snow, I stayed up all night Tuesday night, too. I read more stuff on this forum and just couldn't quit! I have sleep issues anyway, but I this is definitely due to excitement.
I am ready to kick this off! I attended an informational seminar in May of 2007. Then, I met the surgeon in June of 2007 and began the 6 month diet. It took a little bit to get the paperwork the surgeon's office needed, but UHC approved me overnight. The surgeon's office called on December 22 to tell me I was approved. What a fantastic early Christmas gift! However, when I called back to schedule a date, I was told that the first available date was March 4. I couldn't believe that I was going to have to wait ANOTHER 2 months! The time has drug, but it is finally. I am so excited I can't stand myself!
I've bought a few phase I items. I figure with meal sizes of 3 tablespoons full, it won't take a lot of food. Now, there is all of this extra space in the kitchen!
