This time last year

This time last year I weighed 255 pounds and wore a size 22 womens. My ankles were swollen and I had high blood pressure, sleep problems, mobility problems, and just plain lazy. I lived for sweets and devoured them daily. I gave into a daily craving by visiting favorite eating places mid-afternoon and either eating a full meal and/or a huge dessert. Then, had afull dinner a few hours later. I often did grocery shopping and brought back tons of sweets and junk food...sometimes hiding many many items in my office closet or in my car. Diet Coke was plentiful around here and so was coffee.
Exercise? That wasn't even a word used here. I never slept well. Had horrible migraine headaches that lasted for days on end. My hips, legs and feet hurt to the point where they couldn't be touched.
Now, I'm in a misses size 14-16 (not sure yet) and weigh 178 pounds. Just 33 pounds from my personal goal. I sleep better. Blood pressure is good at 110/70. Can't stand sweets and have no cravings for them. I'm saving money by not going to my mid-afternoon restaurants. Migraines are very few and far apart. My hips, legs and feet no longer hurt. And exercise is fun now.
Would I do this over again? Yup...but I'd do it sooner in life if the technologies were the same as now.

Sounds just like meI felt like I had posted this. I am getting information and had a consultation with my surgeon, had all the blood work and going back on the 25th for the physcological. I just want to get out of this life style. I am 55 years old and feel like I should be near 90. I have cardiomyopathy and sleep apnea as well as GERD. SO we are hoping that with letters from my heart doctor & the GB surgeon my insurance will approve me becasue I have the medical conditions. My BMI is 36, but I have a family history of heart disease, diabetics, strokes and asthma. I feel like I have 50 pounds laying on my chest when I lay down, I am 5'3 and 200 pounds all my weight is in my chest and stomach. I have no control over food it seems to just own me. I get up in the middle of the night & go downstairs because I know there is something in the fridge or cabinet that I want. When I want it, I do not give up until I have it. Sweets and d. pepsi is my biggest hang up. I have always said if I could just hate food or eating, I would be fine. Thanks for your post. It was so encouraging to me.
