1 WEEK ANNIVERSARY

IT'S HARD TO BELIEVE THAT ONE WEEK HAS PASSED SINCE I WAS SLEEVED.

I HAVE TO ADMIT THAT DURING THIS WEEK, I HAD SEVERAL TIMES WHEN I ASKED "WHY DID I DO THIS?" AND "WILL I EVER FEEL BETTER?" THE PAIN WAS PRETTY TOLERABLE. I USED PAIN MEDS IN THE HOSPITAL AND AT NIGHT FOR THE FIRST 2 OR 3 NIGHTS I WAS HOME. I COULDN'T SLEEP IN MY BED, SLEPT IN MY RECLINER. GETTING THE LIQUIDS DOWN AND THE PROTEIN DRINKS WAS DIFFICULT, TOO. THE ONLY "EASY" THING WAS WALKING, BELIEVE IT OR NOT!

AS I LOOK BACK ON THIS PAST WEEK, I HAVE TO WONDER IF I DID ENOUGH HOMEWORK. MY ANSWER IS NO! I GUESS THAT I WANTED TO BE THE SUPER PERSON WHO WENT THROUGH THIS PROCESS UNSCAVVED. GUESS WHAT? CAN'T HAPPEN........NOT ME, NOT YOU, NO ONE. WE ALL HAD MAJOR SURGERY AND FOR ME, I HAVE THE EXTRA BURDEN OF MY AGE. GETTING REAL, I DON'T HEAL LIKE I USED TO AND I DIDN'T HAVE THE ENERGY BEFORE SURGERY.

BUT THE SUN IS SHINING. I AM WALKING LIKE I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO IN YEARS. YES YEARS!!!! MY DOUBLE (OR TRIPLE) CHIN IS NOW ONE AND THE CLOTHES I BOUGHT FOR THIS TIME IS CALLING MY NAME. THIS DID NOT HAPPEN OVER THE WEEK BUT SINCE I STARTED THE PROCESS AND THE PRE OP DIETS. YES, DIETS. 2 TO BE EXACT.

AS I FEEL BETTER (AND I DO), I LOOK FORWARD TO THE NEXT ROAD OF MY JOURNEY AND ALL IT WILL BRING.

Hi Alexa 21

Congrats on your decision to begin this new journey!

As far as I know, surgical dates are usually set for after all appointments are completed and results are sent to the doctor for review.

My guess is that your surgery will take place within 2 to 4 weeks after everything is completed.

May the roads in this journey be filled with few bumps. If I  can  help you in any way, feel free to contact me!!
