I'm just starting out... going to orientation on Nov 4th at Western Surgical. Not sure yet if I can go through with the whole process.

Epidural Today and Pity Party

Posted 12-03-2008 at 09:21 PM by dvdwende
My fears were unfounded (TY Jesus). The absolute worst part of the entire procedure was getting the IV in. I have the kindof veins that run and hide when someone's poking around.

My lower back is sore. The doc said to expect that. He also said that one procedure will probably not be enough because of all that's going on in my back!!! OK I've got to get this weight off quick and get my weak back muscles strenghtened up. I refuse to let this get me down.

I'm feeling a little sorry for myself. It's 4:30 pm and the only one that's called to see how I'm doing is my NUT! Last time I remembered I have three adult children, a sister and a mom! Whah, whah!! Poor me. Thank goodness I've got my hubby I can count on.

Dianne,
I hope the epidural helps. My mom gets them and they do seem to help with her chronic back pain. Taking the weight off should help.
I have veins that run and hide too, pain!
Best,
Lynda

Dianne,

Hope the epidural helps. There is nothing worse than back pain. I agree with Lynda. Taking the weight off will help. My veins are small and tender to "run and hide" but they always manage to get one someplace.

Good luck! Let us know how you are doing.

hang in there... sometimes is hard for people to truly understand what you are going through when it doesn't have to be them. im on my fourth day out of surgery and and finally starting to feel a bit human again. sitting in that hospital bed was the worst! couldn't get a decent nights sleep and it was hard to get comfortable being hooked up to everything under the sun. keep your head up and when it doesn't feel like you can make it through the day, take it hour by hour. and soon you will look back on this and know how much you have grown from it.
