6 mo surgery appt

I went for my 6 mo checkup yesterday. I was kinda worried about my vitamin levels since the FSA decided to confiscate my vitamins on my way home from Vegas and in the chaotic arrival home with hurricane Ike bearing down on us, I didnt take them for a couple of weeks. I know bad bad bad! I started back as soon as I realized and hoped that it wouldnt hurt me. All my blood levels are within normal ranges but my b-12 is on thelow end to the point that its 3 points away from being deficient. I dont understand how this can be since i take 34000 % of the RDA of b-12. My folate (folic acid was good i take at least 800 mcg a day) and my calcium was good. My iron was good too so that makes me happy. The worst part of the whole visit is my cholesterol is getting elevated. It was perfect pre-op and now its 6 points away from 200! I am not happy with this but I am thinking it must be genetics since daddy has been on cholesterol meds since i can remember. How can someone who eats 2 oz of healthy, very low cholesterol food 4 times a day have elevated cholesterol? It has to be the genetics. My doctor is pushing me to find a family doctor. I havent every really had a family doctor. I have always had a gyn and my kids have had a pediatrician. I guess since my surgeon keeps pushing the issue i need to find one I can deal with. My surgeon told me to try taking omega 6 &3’s everyday to try to bring down my cholesterol. So I am back on the GNC orange chewies. Im gonna try to take at least 2-3 a day. I took one when i got home last nite from the doctors and am chewing on one right now. I dont go back to see my surgeon for 6 months (1 yr surgery anniversary) so hopefully these omega 3/6s will help. My Vit D wasnt as low as last time though so that is good. I have been supplementing lately with 1000IU of Vit D in a organic gummy chewable. I really like it. I take 1-2 of those a day. anywho, we will see when i have my next bloodwork done.
