My mini-life story. :D

I just thought I'd go in depth a little more about my life and struggles with weight.

I was born into a southern family who equated being large-sized to being 'healthy'. If one weren't slightly chubby, they would somehow believe that something was 'wrong' health-wise. I think this and other factors contributed to my early-life weight gain.

I lived with my mother and grandmother most of my childhood. My mother tells me that my grandmother used to feed me cornbread softened

Greetings from Uniontown PA. I am a gastric bypass patient and 14 months out from my surgery. I can tell you my road has not been easy and I struggle even today to make sense of all the complications I have endured. I am often asked if I would do it again and with no hesitation on my part "In A Heartbeat!" Through all of this I have gained so much (but not pounds) I have lost 170 lbs and struggle to maintain my current weight of 150. I lose so easily that I had to have a feeding tube...

Well the final straw came today when i took my daughter and niece to a childrens party, we were all having a wonderful time when i bumped into a girl i used to work with and what did she ask me??? so how long have you left now? OMG i thought as she was referring to me being pregnant and you can imagine her face and how i felt when i replied 'oh i had a wee boy 15 weeks ago'. I have never felt so disgusted with myself so in a funny way she has helped to kick my butt into shape although...

I think it is very interesting that so many of us feel like the real "me/us" is buried beneath the fat. I thought I was the only one who thought that about myself. As I gain and gain more weight, I always find myself looking in the mirror, wondering where I am...somewhere inside the outer shell that makes me not even recognize myself. Scale's out!

You guys were right! The scale will only make you annoyed, if you're checking your weight every day.

I guess, that for me, it has been a kind of reward place where go to check the payback for the "suffering" of the cravings your're going through! All fine untill the day (today) you actually gained weight.

How on earth? I've been sipping for Sweden over the past 12 days ..aargh!

So tomorrow: GYM TIME (as oposed to GIN TONIC)!
