2 week follow-up after WLS on 3/15/12

Posted by 2ND~TIME~AROUND, 30 March 2012 · 230 views

Hello everyone, I havent been on in awhile. I tried to go back and read the blogs Ive missed. I see that some have had their surgery and some are coming up. I wish all of you the best of luck and much success. So here's how Ive been doing> I had my follow up today. I received  a good review from the doctor. He released me to go back to work and I can now drive. I am learning foods that cause me to dump (milk products and tomato soup and I no longer like body forteress protein) Everything is ropey sweet ( I cant stomach sweet smells or taste) I still have hungry pains and crave old bad foods (pizza). Im not crazy enough to try them though. I had a major dumped from mushed strawberries. I feel like an elderly person I need a nap during the day because I get very tired. As far as pain, I still hurt alittle on my left side. Doctor said that was from the double stitches in my muscle lining. Ive managed my pain with tynenol. I didnt like the way the strong pain meds made me feel foggy and left me with a bad head ache. Well thats how Im doing so far after surgery. I think Im doing pretty good no major problems and the weight is coming off.  I'M A LOSER :P

Starting weight 262lbs 3/1/11 started Aggressive Weight Loss
6 month program 254lb 9/30/11
Started the process for WLS
Gained to 258lb 1/17/12 Palmetto Health Weight Management
Insurance approved on 2/14/12 for WLS
Started pre-op diet on 2/21/12
Surgery on 3/15/12 weight the day of surgery 247lbs
2 week follow up 236lbs!

Best part of all no signs of diabetes, my sugar level  has stayed around 106 :D

Hey, LOSER! Good to see how you're doing. Please continue to post the stuff that has made you dump....I'm so paranoid, I'll just mark them off my list, even though logic demands that everyone has a different experience. How's it feel to watch that scale?? Addicted, yet?

Thanks nestingdoll. I have read your posted and they truly had me cracking up. Im glad to see you made it to the losers bench as well. I read on one of your blogs you had to go back to the hospital for fevers. Hope everything is going well now. I noticed when I returned home, I would freeze just sitting around but at night I would be washed down in sweat that would wake me up. Its gone away now and Im sleeping better. I also saw where you were talking about excerise. I hope you havent started yet. Becareful, your still fragile on the inside. I returned to work today and its 12noon and Im pooped already. Forgot to answer your question about the scales> yes lord it feels so good to jump on the scales and see 1lb or 2lbs gone just like that!
