I would suggest that you talk with your surgeon about your situation, and attend his support groups. He knows you best and can give you the best advice.
There's definitely a learning curve after obesity surgery. I'm always worried if my patients say that things are getting worse as time goes on. If you can gradually eat thicker foods and have the occasional "dietary misadventure" you're normal.
When people who were doing well after gastric bypass develop problems eating foods that they're used to, I worry about the development of a marginal ulcer. Sometimes stomach rumbling can be caused by lactose intolerance. Of course there are lots of other possibilities, but these are a couple that we see from time to time.
