Hey there from Birmingham Alabama. Hope everyone is having a great new year so far. My 6 month surgery anniversary is this Saturday. I am hoping to lose 3 more pounds by then so I can be at the 100 mark.

Glad to see there are some other folks from Alabama. What part of Bama are you all in, and who were your physicians?

Hi My name is Michelle and I am from Birmingham Alabama but I live in Texas now. I had my RNY on August 6th 2007 and next month will be my 6th month mark. My starting weight was 278lbs and now I am 194lbs and have about 42 more lbs. to go and I will be at my Ideal weight. I had my surgery here in Texas in San Antonio Dr Nilesh Patel was my doctor and he was GRRRRRRREeeeaaattt could not had a better one. Well congrats to you on your weight loss and you will do just fine getting to the weight you want to be. GOD BLESS

I live in Florence Al too.I'm to be band July 2 in Huntsville Dr Foreman.
Have you heard of him? It will be at Crestwood Hospital. Have you had your

Hi guys, I am new. I had my surgery on August 6, 2008. So far I have lost 15 pounds! I am a grandmother (soon to be again) and I had my surgery so I could be healthier to play with my grandbabies!

Trina, Lastnerve, and Mackie--I am in Florence, AL and would love to know if there are any support groups in Flo-town? Would you girls be interested in meeting for one?

I'm waiting on my approval from my insurace. My doctor did not send his note in so I had to resend it to the insurance company. So that's all I'm waiting for.

I do not live in Al right now but my goal is to retire there. I was born and raised in Mobile and as God leads hopefully will make it back there one day. I have lived in several states but "my home is in Alabama, no matter where I lay my head." I get back atleast twice a year and in between those times, I count down the days.

I am in Killen/Florence. Dr Facundus did my RNY with the assistance of Dr Foreman at Crestwood. I was very pleased with both Dr F's and the facilities at Crestwood are top notch and their staff is superb.
