Taking your vitamins will be ONE of the most important things you can do, post-op! You'll have to do whatever it takes to make sure you remember... to stay healthy and happy for life!
My doc told me that we need 1000mg of calcium citrate every day, BUT our bodies will only absorb 500mg at a time, AND we cannot take it with any other meds (because it causes problems for the absorbtion of meds). So...
I take half a 1000mg calcium citrate chewable in the AM. I chew the other half mid-day.
In the evening, I take my Centrum Chewable multi-vitamin.
Before bed, I take my iron & biotin.
And every month, I give myself a B-12 injection.
I do keep my meds in a weekly pill case (the big one) so I can make sure to take everything I need without fail. But due to my scheduling, I don't have to lug it around with me.
Good luck to you!
