I really haven't thought much about the staples but I know my surgeon uses a bio-absorbable staple line product to decrease bleeding and leaks from staple lines. It's a product he helped develop. I know initially I could have problems with leaks but I really haven't heard of that being much of a problem down the line. Try not to think about it too much and if it still bothers you just talk to your Dr about it. I'm sure he could help set your mind at rest.
