It is normal to gain 15-30 lbs a few years after surgery. You are older now. Hormones are changing, your body starts to slow down a little bit. In the average population, people will gain 10 lbs for every 10 years of age. To counter act things, you need to change your routine. Re-evaluate what you're doing. We seem to think we are doing the same things...but you may find that you're snacking more often or not getting in enough fruits, veggies, and protein. Increase muscle mass with resistance training. Do something different in your exercise routine. Also, diet pills will definitely cause you to gain weight after 3-6 months of use. You already know that diets don't work. You have already experienced that you are eating more than you normally do....ie, your dad's comment about move away from the table. Others will notice the changes in your routine. You also have a boyfriend...is this the same one as from before surgery? Relationships can add stress to your life and you can subconsciensly do all sosrts of things to sabotage yourself. As previously posted, go back to the basics for awhile. Also, did you gastric bypass? There are 10 different weight surgeries out there and many people try to compare apples to oranges in regards of effectiveness and long-term success. Once you're 1-2 years post-op...many bariatric surgeons are no longer concerned...and that's a shame.
