Default High levels of Homocysteine

Hey everyone,

I was wondering if anyone here has heard of Homocysteine? I had blood work done at the doctors for my 6 month check up last week, and my doctor called me with my blood work results today. She said everything looks good except that i have high levels of homocysteine and my liver levels are high. I have been struggling with these high liver results ever since i was having trouble with my gallbladder, so they have been watching it and testing it every three months (although they're still not sure what the exact cause of it is yet). I am very curious though as to what high levels of homocysteine is. The doctor tried to explain it over the phone, but all i got out of it was that it could be related to future heart problems. She told me to start taking a Vitamin B complex daily to see if my levels will normalize in the next three months when they retest. Anyone else have this problem or know what it means? Thanks for your help!
