I stopped trying to find a protein drink and just concentrated on getting my protein via food. I felt it was the best way to train me for the rest of my life.
I would make things like you mentioned and put unflavored unjury powder in them for extra protein if I didn't make my quota. Cheese is my best friend.
You may want to try ricotta with a bit of spaghetti sauce and melted string cheese and parmesean cheese.
Refried beans with melted cheddar and ff sour cream is yummy
Try all types of fish. Tilapia is great as well as salmon.
Smoked salmon rolled around some low fat cream cheese is a great breakfast.
Sashimi is perfect as well. Just small bites.
You will find a groove.
