It is all about control isnt' it?
We can control food on some level. At least the little bags don't go running off the shelves anyway. Unfortunately, the price is your health, but you've dealt with that part anyway. But I'll be darned if we can control other people for even a minute!
I have read more about people finally facing and resolving their, as you say, "issues" after this surgery. It is very empowering to go through this transformation, come out the other side and say - hey, I changed this part of my life, maybe I'll change that part too.
You could try talking to someone... I personally LOVE therapy. Haven't been in years but it has always helped me SO much and what a comfort. I'll never forget talking 20 minutes non-stop to a wonderful woman (she had recovered from an eating disorder, kept off 85 pounds for like 15 years) about all my issues then looking at her and saying, "I'm nuts, aren't I". (she said I wasn't) and she really helped me!
Anyway, you could try talking to a professional who can help guide you through your re-creation. People don't call your surgery date your re-birthday for nothing!! But you can always complain here at least - folks here are so supportive!
Good luck!
