I tried to start working out at about 6 weeks post op, but I couldn't do it. Physically I just had nothing to give. Walking up the stairs made me jelly weak. I fianally got my energy burst at about 10 weeks and here's my routine since then
I alternate my aerobic every two weeks between precore, bike, and treadmill. (I was told at the gym that if you stick to one too long your body adapts so that you're not getting as much of a workout.) 30 minutes of that and then I hit the weight machines. Upper body first and then lower. It takes about 45 minutes to get through all of them. I've had to cut back to 2 X a week, and sometimes on Saturdays. I hurt my ankle a while back and haven't been able to get back in the swing of it even thouugh I'm all better!
I DO try to get in a good run every morning, but that is more for my over all well being than it is fitness!
