When I used to go to TOPS, I wore the exact same clothes every week-- a pair of the LIGHTEST shorts and shirt I owned-- and I weighed in in those clothes every single time, winter included. I would show up in sweats and then take them off so that I could weigh in in shorts and a T-shirt. And of course, I took off my watch and any jewelry too!!

On one hand, at least I knew my weight reading was accurate week-to-week and not altered by the clothes I was wearing, but I wasn't doing it for accuracy-- I was doing it so that I could show as weighing as "little" as possible; I was paranoid that any extra ounce of anything would ruin my chances for a "good" week... to the point where I wouldn't eat anything on weigh-in day, OR drink anything for 6 hours before the scale.

I lost weight, sure, but it certainly wasn't a very mentally healthy way of doing it. The stress was my main factor in eventually quitting; I felt like I was giving myself an eating disorder over a weight-loss support group.

Anyone who says obesity isn't a disease is insane-- it kills your body AND your mind, if you let it. Glad to hear that you're winning the battle!!
