Hi Cindy,

Before my surgery, my liver enzymes were not normal, either. I had to have an ultrasound before having the surgery but they didn't find anything amiss.

When I had the surgery, the surgeon checked my liver and found nothing wrong (no evidence of fattly liver... nothing).

Recently, I had my liver enzymes rechecked and everything is now normal. I don't know if the weight I've lost has caused things to improve or what the heck happened. All I know is that things are back to normal.

Don't get too worried about this at this point. A lot of people having WLS have fatty liver disease (or the appearance of fatty liver disease) and that doesn't necessarily prevent them from having the surgery.

Your doctors are more than likely just being cautious.
