I drink coffee (1-2 cups) in the am. If I try to drink water or iced tea it comes right back up. i have no idea why. I can't eat until at least 10am and that is if I get up at 7am. I usually get up around 9am (I work 2nd shift) and I eat my first meal at 2pm, a snack at 6pm, dinner at 8:30, and again at 1:30am. it works with my schedule.
Are you sure the milk is not the cause of your icky feeling? I had a similiar situation come up when I was early out everyday after I ate string cheese for an afternoon snack. it got progressively worse and started happenning with other milk products. I became lactose intolerant over the course of a few weeks. Maybe try mixing your protein with crystal light or something for a few days and see if that doesn't help.
