Marie, how does weight loss increase the hormones in my blood stream. and could this result in decreased labido?

Rain:
It was explained to me that estrogen is stored in fat cells. When you have rapid weight loss, estrogen is released into your system. Hence, temporary hormone imbalances.
As I've posted before, I was told that menstrual cramps are caused by an overproduction of a certain enyzme in the uterine lining. The hormone influx may exacerbate the production of the enyzme. Therefore, heavier flow and cramping. I asked for and received permission from Dr. Callery to take low doses of Motrin a couple of days each month to relieve my cramping.
Also, my period actually stopped for six months. However, I'm a lot older than you and I may be entering perimenopause. Unfortunately, my period is now back to normal.
As far as your libido, I would think that the increase in estrogen would increase your libido, not decrease it. But what do I know?!
