My last post was in June and I can't believe it's already October. Sorry that I haven't posted in so long.
I have no idea what's on my ticker right now (and I don't think I ever really figured out how to post the ticker) but my total loss since surgery is a few pounds shy of 50lbs. So many of the changes that I've read about in other stories are things that I've been waiting to experience: most notably, the time to switch to smaller clothing. Well, that happened last week as my wife got a bit of a fashion show as I pulled things out of the hall closet that I haven't worn in 10 years or more. The good news is that several things fit very well. The bad news is that many of them are now out of fashion or just a style I don't want to wear.
Eating has been reinvented in my life and I never thought it was possible to be happy eating as little as I do. Of course, I've also learned how to cheat. Simple carbs go right through and are practically digested before they hit my stomach. So my salty snacks cravings are hard to surpress and I don't get full eating them. However, recently I've attempted to grab a few Triscuits before I fear that I'm in "chips seeking mode" and that normally satisfies my craving for salt/bread and that cracker makes me feel full. Not the healthiest, but I see it as a good defense from making bigger mistakes.
Today, I'm once again traveling and writing to you from Frankfurt. This city has undergone a complete transformation in the last 10 years. It used to be my #1 least favorite place to travel and now it's simply lovely. The city has invested so much into green-ways, cultural initiatives and cool design structures that it's become a really nice place to visit. It's still not my favorite, but it's so much nicer than it used to be.
I hope that all of you are doing well and for those of you who PM'ed me over the last few months, my sincere apologies for my tardiness in replying. Work swept me away as well as some difficult life events. However, I'm back and it's good to catch up with many of you. You're all such an inspiration. Thank you!
