I didn't stock up on anything because I didn't know what I was going to be able to tolerate or feel like eating. If you go out and buy a bunch of stuff you might find out that you won't like or need it post-op. The first week I lived on Sugar free carnation instant breakfast shakes with 1/4 cup of dry milk added (for extra protein), sugar free/fat free pudding, sugar free popsicles (I like the Edy's brand, still do), non-chunky yogurt and cream soups.
I now can't stand any of that stuff except the popsicles. Once I went to regular foods I couldn't stand milk products. I also hated the protein drinks (still do). I did buy some of the syntrax nectars and now I can't even look at the stuff. I eat a lot of cheese and soup now and can tolerate pretty much any type of meat.
I found that eating isn't such a big deal anymore and I really don't care about it that much (which is awesome).
