Welcome to Thinner Times SBrooks1- happy to have you here.

Your BMI computes to 44.6 so based on that, you qualify for WLS. When you choose which surgery to have, it's important that you know all about all: GBP, Band, DS, VS and be a part of the appropriate support.

Though I'm not a band fan, it' has worked for many. It depends on several particulars on whether it will work for you and that's mainly, your current habits and cravings.

If you choose the band route, you may want to choose a more band focused forum like LapBand Talk . No one wants you to fail. I don't think an RNYer wants to see you fail - the problem is, with the band, the failure rate is very debatable AND without proper support, IMO, inevitable.

There's plenty to search on TT as to the comparison of all surgeries. May I also suggest the purchase of "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies" at your local store or Amazon.com. It's a great book that can answer many questions. The best decision for success is an informed decision.

All the best,

Day 77: TTwo-terville - 53 lbs down
Day 188: Century Club - 100 lbs down
Day 366: 1 Year - 146 lbs down
Day 396: One-derland - 153 lbs gone forever! (my pic progression)

Starting BMI: 60.4 / Current BMI: 33.6

Nearly 16 TEN pound bowling balls down... OMG, let me pinch myself!

I don't want to know how much I have left to lose -- I find it encouraging to see how far I've come!
