Hi, Cherry. Welcome to TT. You'll find lots of great info and support here.

If you're going to do protein drinks (and most of us do, at least in the beginning), look for those containing whey or soy isolate protein. Avoid supplements containing collagen protein. We absorb the whey and soy isolate much better.

We need at least 60 grams of protein a day. Some doctors and dieticians recommend a little more than that. When I was a couple weeks post-op, I got maybe 600 to 800 calories a day. You probably won't be able to eat too many calories. Stay away from simple carbs, like bread and potatoes and pasta. Well, a little won't hurt you, but you should focus mainly on protein.

It's normal not to feel hungry this early out. And you don't have a strong full feeling because you're not eating solid food yet. Or if you are, it's all mushy food. You'll probably start feeling full more once you start eating stuff with texture.

You're not drinking nearly enough water. You need to be getting at least 64 ounces a day. Getting enough water is really important. Actually, it's not just water, it's any caffeine-free liquids. So your protein drinks count, too.
