Hi Everybody! My name is Stacy and thanks to this wonderful forum, I have finally gathered enough information to make my final decision of going through with the gastric bypass surgery.
The emotional reasons were always there for me: I am 29 years old and I have been on a “diet” since I was 11 years old: and on the days that I was not eating healthy I felt so bad about myself for not keeping to either the WW, LA weight loss, HCG shots, soup diet, liquid diet..YOU NAME IT! Well, here I am at 29, divorced because my ex –husband couldn’t see past my overweight body: leaving me and my 9 month old daughter for a “skinner” version of me. So as you can see, the emotional reasons as to why I wanted and needed the surgery to help me loose my weight and keep it off so I can enjoy my life and get other hobbies: other than collecting all the diet foods/articles available.
Thanks to this forum and hours and hours of reading the information, I now have clear understanding of what exactly is involved and I made an educated decision to go through with the surgery. I owe it to myself and my daughter to be become healthy and be excited about life and living it!
So I have an appointment this Thursday at 8:15 to speak to my doctor and get the ball rolling.
