I used to teach 2nd grade. I'm actually not currently teaching. I'm a stay-at-home mom right now. I have a 2 year old son with mild cerebral palsy. I'll return to teaching one day in the future.
As for insurance approval, it took me quite a while. If things had gone as planned I would have had my surgery in March. But I battled with insurance for a few months. For a while there I was sure I'd never get the surgery. It finally worked out and I got approval in May and had my surgery June 16th. I hope it's a smooth ride for you... but if it's not, don't give up.
