There's one more thing you and I have in common. I had neuromas in my left foot and have had surgery. At times my foot still hurts but it's getting better. Just one more thing you and I have in common. 
Holly~I'm glad your mom has a date. I have arthritis in my neck and knees. I have been given a medicine called "Flexeril". You may want to let your mom check with the doc's to make sure she's getting what she needs for her pain.
