My question is really about dumping. I got the gastric bypass instead of the lap band to have the dumping syndrome. But I've already tested the pouch and nothing. So I was wondering - what the hell?

Also I forgot to mention that unlike most people i've heard about, I am able to drink right before and after meals. Again - what the hell?
My question too is "what the hell?"

Not to sound harsh or mean but why would you even already a week out be testing your pouch? This I can in no way wrap my brain around. Not sure what you are testing with but I think you are starting down a dangerous road early that will ultimately impede your success with your bypass.

Head hunger is just that. For the first month after my surgery my head, my stomach, my body screamed for food. Did I need it of course not but I sure did want it. You just gotta work through it the brain is a hard thing to retrain after surgery. Good luck with yours.

And with the drinking this is a rule for a reason, just because you can does not mean you should. If you are washing your food out by drinking then you may be hungry quicker and doing more harm then good.

I am eager to hear what kind of pre op education and guidelines your surgeon counseled you with if you are already fudging those boundries.

Good luck with your journey.

Sorry one more thing to add, dumping is very even though not everyone experiences it. I dumped on a food I was allowed to have banana. Enough said.
