Default It all Depends...

If you are going to a very experienced surgeon, you shouldn't have too many concerns about complications per se. The statistics show (so far) that the Sleeve has (almost) as good of results as RnY, with FEWER complications. The numbers don't lie. And although I do not doubt that dumping and intolerance happen (obviously), they are MUCH less common with the Sleeve.

I am a self pay patient getting the Sleeve, my ins pays for RnY but I did not want bypass. My surgeon is one of the TOP, esp when it comes to the Sleeve procedure. His comment was: If someone is self pay, I would NEVER recommend RnY over the Sleeve. To pay more of your own money for such similar results is not worth it." Or something to that affect.

Anyways, Kizzy- do more research. I originally started out wanting LapBand, then realized it is not for me.... came to the conclusion after some soul searching that the VSG IS FOR ME. Either way, RnY or VSG.... if you follow the program and use it properly, you will lose a lot of weight and change your life. Best of Luck and please keep us updated on what you decide!
