Starting exercise porgram before surgery.
I just got a the Bowflex ultimate 2 machine. I am starting to use it tomorrow.
Here is the problem.
I am out on workers comp. On my Left Knee, I have a torn ACL, my knee is at advanced endstage degenarative disease involving the medial femorotibial joint compartment with full-thickness cartilage loss, marginal osteophyte formation, osteonecrosis and bony remodeling. In the lateral compartment there is moderate loss of articular cartilage with exuberant osteophyte formation. There is a moderate joint effusion consistent with arthitis/synovitis.
This all happened in August of 08 and workers comp didn't authorize an MRI until Dec 4, 08. Meanwhile I sat around doing nothing gaining weight. WRkrs comp sent me to rehab before they did an MRI and back to work on light duty. I re-agrivated the injury and that is when I was authorized the MRI.
It took a few more months for wrkrs comp to authorize a total knee replacement.
I finally thought I was seeing light at the end of the tunnel. Well I went in for pre op and the EKG revealed an abnormality in my heart. A couple more months went by and wrkrs comp denied any further tests with my heart. Now I am going through my own insurance to lose weight in hopes that it would fix the abnormality inmy heart.
I am now playing the waiting game with my insurance.
I don't have high/low blood preasure, cholesteral, diabetes, or any other problems. Atleast none that I have been diagnosed with.
I was asked to lose 20-30 lbs before the lapband surgery. This is why I am starting to work out tomorrow with my new bowflex maxchine. It took my brother-in-law about 6 hours to put it together. I can't bend down with my knees so he offered to help me with it. Dang he is so cool. Thx "Fish".
More info to follow.
