[quote=Pokey757]I cannot find a list of things to bring to the hospital. I dont know what to search for. Basics. robe, slippers, deodorant, toothbrush, something comfy to wear home. I wore PJ bottoms and a t-shirt. Oh, and as we have all said a MILLION times--Chapstick or something for your lips!
Is there a specific type of chicken, or beef broth that i should buy? Does one have more protein then others?Anything is fine As far as I know. I got the kroger store brand but there was a thread on here about a high protein broth that can be ordered. Sorry I don't remember the name.
Where do you peeps buy your vitamins from? I was told about Bariatric Advantage, but i wonder if i have to buy them forever from there? Wal-mart. Centrium chewables. I was taking wal-mart brand kids chewable vitamins for awhile but I like the taste of the centrium better. They are a little more expensive but my doc gives out $3.00 off coupons by the handful.

During the first 2 weeks while on liquids, did any of you add protein to your chicken broth? I was thinking about getting some Any Whey tastless stuff to add to my broth. What do you think? Will my tummy tolerate protein supp's in the first 2 weeks?I didn't start protein until week 3 per my doc. Whey protein (what I buy) says not to warm it up past a certain temp. However, when i was on cream soups I did add it occasionally. It tends to get lumpy so if you do it use the blender.
I am also curious how many weeks after surgery did you feel you could have gone back to work? Mainly to those of you who have sit down jobs. I work in a factory so I went back in 6 weeks but needed another 2 weeks. I think if I had a sit down job I would've been okay at about 4 weeks.
I hope that helps you out some. Don't buy a ton of broth or Jello or you'll end up throwing it out later on.
