Barbara,

I had mine removed last October and am in the process of revising now to RNY. I'm hoping it will be successful. My daughter had the RNY last May and has done really well. I really need the malabsorption that RNY offers. I also suffered with acid reflux with the band and it always seemed too tight and I couldn't eat the healthier choices and for some reason the "bad foods" go right through the band.

It's a big decision to make and I'm still waiting on approval to have my revision. I'm not afraid to have the RNY like I was before. I have a choice to live as overweight as I am now or to have RNY and lose a good portion of it so to me at my age, 49 and my comorbs, many it's worth it. Good luck in making your decision. Read as much as you can. Each surgery has it's failures and successes. It can be difficult to pin point the right one for you. But by working with your surgeon and reading and going on these forums it will definitely help with your decision take care!
