Being diabetic, i might make a suggestion if you experience low blood sugar. First off i wouldnt eat cookies, i would reach for a glass of fat free skim milk. The lactose will raise your blood sugar before you know it and in 8 ounces you are getting an additional 7 grams of protein.
stay away from sweets. especially those derived from carbs, at least empty carbs like cookies and pretzels. all they will do is increase your desire to eat more of them. You also might want to keep sugar tablets on hand, available at any pharmacy. Take one and check your sugar. they are 15 grams of carbs each.
If you see and endocrinologist, or are on medication for your blood sugar like insulin or pills she might want to monitor you closely and change your doses if she finds your blood sugar issues are becoming often.
