I measure alot of things. If i make a quesadilla, i measure how much cheese and meat, but not the tortilla. Tonight, i had stirfry and i measured the protein, steak only. I really only care about how much protein i have now. just so i make sure that my 3 oz pouch is filled with the best stuff possible first. I like knowing how much it is. Keeps me from taking too little or too much. For the RNY people, our pouches are only so big. Dont know about the sleeves. Talk to Aviator, he had his on new years eve this last year and is thriving.
Drinking and eating after wls is not good. The reason is you need room for those good things, not water at meal time. Plus if you drink and eat, you may push your food through quicker which will lead you not having the feeling of fullness long. Me personally, i try not to drink up to 1 hour.. sometimes longer after I eat. The sooner i drink, the sooner i want to eat again.
I am not sure of all the differences between sleeves and rny, because sleeve wasnt an option for me. But it would be a good idea to speak to your surgeon or nutritionalist about the problems you are having so they can guide you down the right path for success.
Are you getting enough proteins?
