Baja - the current calcium recommendation is 1500-2000mg a day - taken in doses of around 500mg.

I don't know that I'd mess around grinding up calcium pills - if you drop them into liquid and wait a few minutes, they'll dissolve anyway. That way you wouldn't have to worry about measuring out the correct dosage.

I doubt that grinding the pills up is going to alter the nutritional status.

Put a couple of those babies in with your milk/water and leave it for a few minutes, add your protein powder and give it a buzz - got your protein and calcium all in one.

I know some people who just drop a couple of calcium pills into a bottle of water 3 or 4 times a day.
