The average age is 51, so some will go earlier and some will go later. Also, peri-menopause will start to affect many women 10 to 15 years prior to menopause.
I'm 48 (well, 49 really) and I've had serious hot flashes the last couple of months.. but I've had symptoms of peri-menopause for a while now, particularly the excess facial hair.
