The one thing I do make sure is that I get my protein, water, and vitamins in!

My doctor is dead set against snacks...it's strictly 3 meals a day...so I'm pretty much now 'trained' to this.

I'm not afraid of food.... I'm just not hungry.... Again, I know in a few months (when I'm ravenous) I'll look back at this and wonder why I was so concerned...

Relating to getting my protein in, howeve....I spent a 'fun' (ha-ha!) afternoon at the urgent care yesterday because the pain caused by my constipation got so bad I couldn't stand it.

I lucked out and got a doctor that happens to be BIG into nutrition/fitness, etc....and he told me that he was surprised no one at my surgeons office or my regular doctor never told me that high protein diets, particularly using protein powders, are NOTORIOUS for causing severe constipation if you don't get in at least 20 to 30 grams of fiber a day.

He said taking benefiber three times a day wouldn't even begin to help considering how much protein, and really nothing else I was getting in a day.

He suggested I keep up with the benefiber, the miralax and the ducolax but also try to eat a half cup of something like FiberOne during the course of the day. I explained about my dislike of milk and the fact I am still on mushy food til after the first of the year and he suggested just adding enough water until the cereal is mushy and then eat it. He also said I might want to consider adding a tablespoon of 'good fat' like olive oil to my diet, maybe once every other day.... He said it might actually help with my weight loss (I told him my frustration with my low/slow weight loss).

When I got home I googled protein powders and high protein/low fat diets and found that constipation does seem to be a common complaint.

I'm going to give it a shot (especially seeing if I can't get in the FiberOne during the course of my three meals) and see if it helps.
