I would only agree with all what was said before.
Also watch out the diet coke: bubbles might enlarge the stomac again, it is not really recommended. And theses drinks contains few substances these phosphates I do not remember exact the name (Beth correct me please you are so knowledgabe) that increase your "thirst" .
Try rather with selfmade teas, add fake sugar and lemon, or anything you want.
I lately went through a terrible phase where I put on 3 kilos: in about 1 month I lost them all and even more: I fought with this "head hungriness" by making sure of the following points that worked at least for me:
1) Drink really more than before between the meals, not to leave my stomac "empty".
2) I always have with me apples, or pears (they nicely feel in my stomac), and I will generally eat fruits the afternoon, before my Glucose level go totally down, I eat slowly fruits (not bananas grapes, but rather those with fibbers)
3) I do always include salads + bevetables in my lunch and dinner which allow to keep me longer "full".
4) I started to eat again slowly: I realise that I was eating so fast, as if I would miss a train.... bad bad bad
5) Put all what you will eat in a plate to make sure you see the quantity. By taking left and right, we do not feel that we at enough.
6) You can have slow carbs that will give you satisfaction, but at the same time avoid to make hungry later: work on that about your food choices, I totally agree with Beth. Get it right now before it is too late.
And again, do fight this head hungriness, the knife cut our stomac, not the brain, we need to the this "brain attitude change".
Now why some periods we are more hungry than other? cannot say, but frustation should be canalized in a different way.
Take care
