hi Heidi, congratulations on getting your date. Mine has been an interesting journey so far. I had all of my pre op things done with a surgeon here in DSM. But when they submitted to my insurance company UHC, they stated in order to pay for the surgery, my company required it be done at a center of excellence. So i took all my evals i had completed and saw Dr. Samuels for the first time on 10/9/08. There were a few other tests i needed and completed those as quickly as possible. i Saw the Dr again on 11/6 and everything was finally in order. On 11/10 i was approved and scheduled for Dec 3. The journey began in July and has been an emotional rollercoaster to where i am now.
The liquid diet is uhmm interesting to say the least, but if i can get another 15 or so pounds off before surgery, i will be ecstatic. good luck to you.. i have heard great things about both of the surgeons there, and even though the road was bumpy, i am happy where i have ended up.
