Default Fructose Explanation

Vemma uses fructose (not to be confused with high fructose corn syrup) because it is an all-natural compound/sweetener that is known to have the lowest Glycemic Index* of any of the simple sugars. Because of this, fructose results in lower blood glucose levels after ingestion, making it the preferred sweetener for individuals with diabetes and other insulin-related problems.
It is important to note that the fructose amount in Vemma is 8 grams per serving. As a comparison, there is 12 grams of fructose in one large apple. So, relative to the amount of natural sugar we take in on a daily basis, 8 grams is very small. I hope this helps! If you would like a sample I would be happy to send you one.
