Kelly is right - there ARE other options. However, only you and your doctor can decide which surgery is the best one for you. At this moment, RNY is considered the gold star of weight loss surgery, but as is true in all medical issues, the technology and methods move forward all the time.

But here again, I feel it is far less important to think about the volume of food, regardless of the surgery. In fact, I am able to eat far more than I do - it is my choice to eat small portions, often. This, along with the substance of what I eat, causes me to feel well, sleep well, be healthy - and I am thin for the first time in my adult life (to this extent, anyway).

We are all different, each one of us (who are post op) are right in each's perspective. It's up to you to find that magic combination. Look at the BIG picture, keep your eye on that, stay off the scale, do what your surgeon/nutritionist tells you to do, to the letter, and you will be a walking miracle, a flying miracle, a teaching miracle.
