I had surgery on a Tuesday and went home on Friday. By that time, I was walking laps every hour and was told to continue that at home to keep from getting blood clots. So at home I would walk around the block about 4 times a day. Gotta keep the circulation going. It also gets you into the exercise habit which is good to keep up forever. I walk 1/2 hr most nights. I didn't have a problem with the throat so can't help you there.
