4 years and one month out. I have gained back about 15 lbs from my lowest but I was really too thin at my lowest. The only "complication" that I have had is that I have to have B12 shots once a month because I was slightly anemic. I am so happy I had this surgery and would do it all over again if I had to make that same decision.

Well, I'm one month from being 3 years out, does that count? I am up 10 pounds over my lowest average. But still down 145 pounds!

So good to see y'all! I allow myself a 7 pound fluctuation, anything more than that I lose it FAST!

My motivation? Looking hot in a little black dress and keeping chronic pain away as much as possible with extra weight!

I agree. I have never really felt welcome here either. I guess cuz I'm not one of the home gang here. Anyway, I have always enjoyed your posts. I feel we have alot in common.
I don't come on much any more. Just check in now and then.

Default I am 9.9 Years Out

Hi.. My surgery was in January 2000. I was slightly over 300 pounds and 5'6 Today i'm 134 pounds and able to maintain it.

I don't dump and can have sugar and learned its alot of moderation for me. I eat very little as the my body doesn't require much to stay this size

I'm grateful I had the surgery and have my own theories on how to make it work for people to get maximum benefit ....

Angel I hope you've consistently had bloodwork done and a DEXAscan completed every year since your surgery.

Back when we had surgery they didn't inform us of the necessary vitamins and minerals we'd need FOR LIFE.

I hope you're completely healthy with no deficiencies or bone loss.

I have my blood work checked and have had to getferroycette infusions because of anemia attributable to gastric bypass surgery. I passed out one day and they found out my hemoglobin was 7 and i got transfusion. I am carefully watched because I have had perionitnitis following a botched tummy tuck as well as colon cancer.

I'm glad to be alive and am watched carefuly.
