I eat protein first, veggies second. Rarely eat fruit. Have candy bar once a week, drink soda but I count calories.

When I fall into bad habits I feel like crap and it gets me back on track quickly.

Pretty much the same for me. I'm better about fruit and not very good at the veggies. I am fairly religious about my vitamins. I eat something sugary occasionally, and this is largely self-regulating for me as a day of splurging will cost me a couple of days of feeling like crap.

In total I probably eat the equivalent of 3 normal sized meals a day, but it takes me all day to eat it.

Most of my "back sliding" occurred in my second year when I was able to tolerate more bad foods. I think that everyone goes through this to a certain extent. At the point when you can tolerate these foods is really when the temptation exists and the actual learning to use your new tool begins (IMO).

I'm obviously NOT 3 years post-op...but fighting the "bad habits" will be a life-long journey for me. I can (and do) eat anything I choose...I choose not to eat cakes, cookies, and other sweets at this time...and stay away from sodas of any kind.

Hmmm, I have gained 10 lbs overall.....though I have aged 5 years! Can't complain as I am a size 4 (though a 2 was fun while it lasted!)

I have the same habits as always, stay active (no formal or routine exercise) and eat 5-6 meals a day....get my daily protein in the morning with my nasty coffee shake I have been making for the past 5 years....

I stay at my 80% healthy and 20% whatever the heck I want.....hmmm...had the Nutella crepe at IHOP today.....it made a nice treat all day long...3 crepes was plenty for me and my hunny for 2 meals.

I often forget I'm a "WLS" patient......it has become part of who I am...like brown eyes.....

I gained 15 pounds a couple of times, but then I go back to eating 5 times a day and counting calories. The weight drops off within 3 months. This has happened to me twice in 5 years. I refuse to be larger than a size 8/10. If the clothes get tight, and get back to better habits.

I do not watch the scale, so I did not notice that I was gaining weight until my clothes started getting tight. I was about 2 years out and gained 20 lbs. After I cut sugar out (almost completely) and cut back on some of the empty carbs, the weight came back off (over 2-3 months). I do not have a set exercise routine. I have been doing some type of sporting activity a couple times a week (softball, basketball, racquetball) as time allows.

Side note: I struggled through many different diets (like most) that got my weight down, but I could not maintain it. Now, having the tool that allows me to assert some level of control over my weight long term (that I can actually maintain) is an awesome feeling. It is so much easier than before WLS, I kind of feel a little guilty about it.
