I was in a 12 step program for food addiction (CEA) and lost 100 -- 70 --- 50 pounds on 3 separate occasions. Only thing..... couldn't keep it off, the program was too structured for me (required 3 meetings a week, 3 calls a day, daily sponsor contact w/writing assignments, a slip meant starting over and/or losing your sponsor). This is much better because I am doing it for me not out of fear. However, I do not regret one minute in the program - It taught me how to live.
