He wants me to stay off all dairy, fatty foods, etc. This is hard enough to do when I am eating regular foods (especially the dairy), so I am getting worried about what to do once I go on the liquid diet for 2 weeks before surgery. I tried making a protein shake with water and some fruit...it was nasty but I drank it anyway. Does anyone have any suggestions on non-dairy ways to make the protein drinks?

Thanks, you all are great and I love reading all of your posts!

I don't have gallbladder problems, but my surgeon doesn't allow milk on my 10 day pre-op liquid diet. So, I essentially have the same problem you do. Someone above already mentioned the Syntrax Nectar protein...the cheapest place to order it is Vitacost.com. Also, try the New Whey protein vials. They have 45 grams of protein in each 3 ounce vial. They are a bit thick, but you can actually drink them like a shooter. Or, get the same flavor of Crystal Light and mix it together with the New Whey vial. They come in orange, grape, and fruit punch I believe.
