I'd just like to add one little thing that wasn't addressed in my original post, and that's if your surgeon doesn't do the DS you will definitely not get a balanced explanation of it. Furthermore, there are many WLS surgeons who actually "bait and switch" with info about the DS.
However, the duodenalswitch.com site has a great list of DS surgeons. Maybe there's one in your area with whom you can consult.
